How many staff are dealing with taxi and Private Hire applications
As of 12 November there are 179 people in the Licensing Team dealing with all aspects of the licensing process.
How many are being issued a day new and renew
We record the number of licences issued weekly. For the week ending 10 November, 309 new private hire licences and 557 renewal licences were issued. In the same week 6 new taxi driver licences were issued and 158 renewal licences.
How many applications are there on backlog as my application has been delayed and then delayed
The time it takes to process an applications depends on each individual application. For example, the time required to process an application may increase as a consequence of:
- being incomplete or inaccurate;
- TfL awaiting the disclosure and/or results of an applicant’s Disclosure and Barring Service assessment;
- Applicants taking time to pass the topographical skills assessment (private hire only); and/or
- Medical fitness assessments giving rise to further queries.
As of 10 November, we have 450 new applications (taxi and private hire) that have been received and are awaiting an initial assessment with a waiting time of 4 days. There are 478 renewal applications awaiting an initial assessment with a waiting time of 5 days.
