Can you please provide the following information for Arriva Rail London (London Overground) which is part of TFL: Could you please supply details of the drug and alcohol cutoff limits applied to your initial immunoassay testing in accordance with your Drug & Alcohol testing policy, also the cutoff points for confirmation testing. Is this the same for all train companies for there drivers or does it differ from company to company if so what is it for the train companies for there drivers in the uk only.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 28 January 2021, asking about drug and alcohol policy for London Overground.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

Could you please supply details of the drug and alcohol cut off limits applied to your initial immunoassay testing in accordance with your Drug & Alcohol testing policy, also the cut off points for confirmation testing.

Is this the same for all train companies for their drivers or does it differ from company to company if so what is it for the train companies for their drivers in the uk only.

Please find the below cut off levels for drugs as per the Network Rail Standard.

In terms of what the cut-off levels mean, it is the level that’s been agreed to prove consumption of the drug. It’s designed to prevent false positives.

Alcohol is 29 milligrams of alcohol per 100ml of blood, which is the same as 0.13mg/L BrAC level. This is detected in breath (which is how our testing is done).
