Number of Line Controllers at each line control centre and number of vacancies

Please note that some of the roles contain a small figure (5 or less), which means that disclosure could potentially identify specific individuals within that team or department.  We therefore consider that these figures are exempt from disclosure under section 40(2) of the FOI Act as disclosure of these exact figures would be a breach of the first data protection principle. This information constitutes personal data as defined in section 2 of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). These individuals would have a reasonable expectation that the information would not be disclosed in a manner that would identify any particular person and it would be unfair to them to do so. Therefore, what we have done is replace any cells containing the values 1 to 5 with ‘<5’, as we consider that it would not be fair to provide this data.

Regarding job descriptions, over the past years the role titles have changed and so I have listed the current titles below;

• Station Assistant = Customer Service Assistant 1 and Customer Service Assistant 2.
• Line Controller = Service Control level 1 and Service Control level 2.
• Signaller = Service Operator.
• Information Controller  = Line Information Specialist (LIS).

Please find the corresponding job descriptions attached.

Could you advise are there any plans to advertise train operator roles soon and is there any plans to put these jobs external?

Same with Line Controller and signaller roles?

There aren’t any plans to go live with any of the roles in the near future and we do not advertise externally for any Service Control roles.
