Request ID: FOI-2178-2122 Date published: 19 January 2022
You asked
Is it possible to provide us with further information regarding the exact boundary of where the Hammersmith Flyover changes from a 30mph zone to a 40mph on the Great West Road. If possible could we request this location of the 30mph to 40mph speed order as a grid number reference so we can pin point this boundary exactly.
We answered
Our ref: FOI-2178-2122/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 23 December 2021 asking for information about the Hammersmith Flyover Speed limit.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Talgarth Road is 30mph. Travelling westbound, where it turns into the Hammersmith Flyover at 40mph, the coordinates are British National Grid reference: X = 523,821 Y = 178,392 (southside) and X = 523816 Y = 178404 (northside). These are approximate points to 1m and don’t take into account road widths. The road remains 40mph until the Hogarth Lane roundabout. For visual reference, please see the attached map – where the light green goes darker are the speed changes.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
