We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-2163-1920
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18th October 2019 asking for information about CCTV at various London Underground stations.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“What assessments have you made about the effectiveness and the case for an upgrade of the CCTV cameras at the following stations: Finsbury Park, Manor House, Turnpike Lane, Wood Green, Bounds Green, Highgate, Seven Sisters and Tottenham Hale?”
The CCTV systems at the Underground stations you list undergo a regular maintenance regime. Any defects which indicate a deviation from British standard or the London Underground standards are rectified, or result in the system being recorded as an abnormal asset condition. No abnormal conditions are currently recorded for these assets at the stations listed. There are currently no upgrade projects planned for these station assets, but this remains under constant review based on performance and condition. Operational effectiveness assessments are performed as a joint activity including our Operations, Maintenance and Customer Services teams, as well as the British Transport Police. These assessments are normally undertaken if there is a change to the system requirement or configuration.
