Thank you for your email received by us on 17 October 2019 asking for information about measured fuel efficiencies achieved by bus operating companies.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. You asked for:

actual measured fuel efficiencies achieved by bus operators (MPG or similar) on the differing types of buses used by TfL ? I am aware that there are published figures for several types on proving grounds, but I would like to know how actual in-service figures compare to the synthetic tests. Any data would be helpful.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested as this data is held by the bus operating companies, which lease or procure vehicles whilst operating them on Transport for London’s (TfL) behalf.
