Under the UK Freedom of Information Act, I’d like to request the following documents from Transport for London:
• The contract or change order between Transport for London and Cubic Transportation Systems for Cubic to supply new readers under the Hina reader replacement program.
• Any other documents that show the total price and number of readers supplied by Cubic under the Hina program, including readers for London Underground gates, London Overground and trams and London buses.
This information will be used for my global publication covering transport and mobility payments and will not be used for commercial purposes. If you deny any of the information I’ve requested, please tell me the legal restrictions that permit you to deny the information. Also, please let me know if there are any fees for searching for or providing the information I’ve requested in digital form. If there are fees, please tell me before filling my request, but if there are fees, I would like to request a waiver.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 November 2022 asking for information about the Hina reader replacement program. Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
The contract or change order between Transport for London and Cubic Transportation Systems for Cubic to supply new readers under the Hina reader replacement program
We have only contracted for Phase 1 to date. The final contract scale and scope is as yet unfinished. We anticipate this will be finalised in early 2023.
Any other documents that show the total price and number of readers supplied by Cubic under the Hina program, including readers for London Underground gates, London Overground and trams and London buses
We have currently only bought 3 boards for 3 readers to be built/designed for buses, out of an anticipated 11,500. Pricing is yet to be finalised.
