TfL Ref: FOI-2144-1617

Thank you for your email received by us on 2 February 2017 asking for information about salaries for London Underground (LU) managers.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require. You asked:

  1. The salaries of all Centurion Grade managers on LUL which would cover the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, this would cover Area manager, Train Operation Managers, Service Control Managers, Senior Operating Officers, any MMH grade on secondment in other areas. If able to be sorted by Age, Gender, Ethnicity, Line

  2. The break down for PRP awards for LUL Centurion Managers this would cover Area manager, Train Operation managers, Service Control Managers, Senior Operating Officers, any MMH grade on secondment in other areas. If able to be sorted by Age, Gender, Ethnicity, Line

The general salaries of Centurion Grade managers can be found on Source using the following link http://onelink.tfl.gov.uk/sites/er/Intranet/Intranet%20Documents/2016%20LUL%20IN%27s%20-%20Signed.pdf

In accordance with the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply a breakdown of salaries and PRP awards as it is subject to a statutory exemption to the right of access to information under section 40(2). This exemption to your right of access is applied in accordance with TfL’s obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).

The exemption applies because disclosure of salaries and PRP awards sorted by age, gender, ethnicity or Line would enable you to link the information to living individuals. This would be a breach of the DPA, specifically the first principle of the DPA which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely,
