Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 17th September 2023 asking for information about the e-scooter trial.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. Your questions are answered in turn below:

Question 1) Will any new local councils / authorities be joining or leaving the E-scooter area?

Answer: All ten local authorities from Phase 1 are continuing with Phase 2 of the London e-scooter trial. The London Borough of Wandsworth has announced and informed us that it intends to join the trial. No other local authorities have confirmed that they plan to join, but you would need to ask each individual authority whether or not they have any plans to do so.

Question 2) Will any existing local councils /  authorities be expanding or reducing the size of the operational area for E-scooters?

Answer: The London Borough of Lambeth plans to expand the operational area to the rest of their borough. We are not aware of any other such plans from the other authorities, but you would need to ask each individual authority whether or not they have any plans to do so.

3) Will TfL be exploring the installation of more e-scooter parking bays on its existing land around London Underground, London Overground, DLR and London Rail(Elizabeth Line) Stations?

Answer: Yes, we are exploring this but final plans are not yet confirmed.
