You asked
Hello,
On 2023-09-15, my family were on the escalators going down at Baker Street station. As they were going down, there was a panic among a mass of people and everyone fled towards the exit. They asked members of staff at the time what had happened and they were unable to comment other than that they were investigating an incident. This event has since caused my family a lot of anxiety and I would like to know what happened to spark this event so that they have closure.
Many thanks

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
Colleagues in London Underground have reviewed all the incident reports and log entries for Baker Street for the 15th September 2023. It seems that there was a faulty train on the Jubilee line that was making loud noises and sparking. This was found to be due to defective capacitor trays (a component of the traction system) which short-circuited causing the noises and sparks. The faulty train was detrained of passengers and the faulty components replaced.
