We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2129-1718

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 2 November 2017 asking for information about trees felled by TfL.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

How many trees has TfL felled since May 8th 2016?

As a responsible organisation, biodiversity protection is an integral part of TfL’s infrastructure management responsibilities, and we are committed to meeting the challenge of retaining a healthy wildlife-rich network whilst running a safe and reliable network.

We carry out tree work as part of an ongoing regime to control vegetation, essential to protect fence lines, embankments, cutting slopes and infrastructure from the effects of encroachment by vegetation and spread of invasive plant species. This is essential work, particularly in preparation for the autumn and winter seasons, to ensure we run a safe and efficient service.

Please find below the figures extracted from our NAMS system that contain our asset inventory records, which are updated by our supply chain when works are carried out.
