Request ID: FOI-2119-1819
Date published: 11 December 2018

You asked

Do TFL switch off the Digital Projector Screens on the Central line platforms at Liverpool Street station. When the platform temperature reaches a certain temperature? If they do switch them off, at what temperature is that?

We answered

Our ref: FOI-2119-1819/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 13 November 2018 asking for information about Liverpool Street station.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

The Digital Projector Screens on the Central line platforms at Liverpool Street station are not switched off if the platform temperature reaches a certain temperature. The projectors only work when trains are not in platforms and they do not operate during engineering hours when no customers are on the station.

Heat dissipation from the projector screens is minimal as the projectors are fitted with the latest LED bulbs.
