We answered

TfL Ref: 2110-1920

Thank you for your forwarded request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 10 October 2019 asking for information about 'the results of the impact assessment reports carried out on either Tottenham Court Road (taxi restrictions). Or Tooley Street.(Where taxis gained access after consultations).'

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.

The London Borough of Camden is the Highway Authority for the Tottenham Court Road proposals -  Tottenham Court Road is not part of the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) therefore any information will be held by LB Camden.  You can contact them directly through their website at: https://www.camden.gov.uk to request this.

With regard to the Tooley Street Healthy Streets initiative you also asked about, the proposed scheme looked to remove licenced taxis from Duke Hill Street,  however following the consultation on removing taxis eastbound between Duke Street Hill / Tooley Street and Bermondsey Street, (where Tooley Street east of the junction with Bermondsey Street would have remained open to general traffic), the scheme has been revised to retain licenced taxis access to Duke Hill Street onto Tooley Street. Under the proposals no changes were proposed to the westbound operation of general traffic including taxis. There was no modelling (impact assessment) undertaken in removing taxis from this location and as we are now proposing to retain that facility, there is no need for any further impact assessment as it will remain as the current situation.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
