Our ref: FOI-2109-2021
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 18 January 2021 asking for information about tube noise on the Victoria line.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and our Information Access Policy. You asked for:
The numbers of complaints currently live and what activity was taking place on the night of Friday 15 January to cause such loud noise.
We currently have 10 open ‘live’ complaints about noise between Blackhorse Road and Walthamstow Central recorded on our Track Engineering Noise and Vibration database.
There were no changes in regular passenger train movements or speeds during the period 15th January 22:30-23:00, and no Engineering works were taking place at this time.
If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
