You asked

Please can you provide information pursuant to the policy decisions on: A) Prevention of national rail ticket holders from accessing both ends of the Finsbury Park station and the grounds on which this decision was taken. It causes significant inconvenience to have to walk around the station simply to access overground platforms. B) Prevention of use of mobile phone tickets at the finsbury park station. We answered

TfL Ref: FOI-2107-2223

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24 November 2022, asking for a policy decision to prevent National Rail ticket holders to access Finsbury Park station and use their mobile phone tickets.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. We’re not aware of any policy or other decisions to prevent National Rail ticket holders accessing ticket gates at Finsbury Park.  With regard to barcode tickets on mobile phones, they should not be issued as we do not have the means to accept them. However we are in discussions with the Department for Transport (DfT) about whether they would be able to fund work to allow National Rail tickets on barcodes to be accepted at stations where they are valid and where we control the gateline.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
