Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“I am looking to gain information about the number of traffic light signals in the London area, and the average cost of maintenance per traffic light.”
I can confirm that we hold the information you require. Currently there are 6,416 traffic signals in the London. Yearly, average maintenance costs for a traffic signal site (junctions and pedestrian crossings) based on 2019/20 budget is £2,980.35.
