Please can you provide me with documentation regarding the derogation that exists for Wapping Overground station which allows it to remain open despite it not meeting current safety standards.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 29 September 2024 asking for information about Wapping Overground station.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.You specifically asked: Please can you provide me with documentation regarding the derogation that exists for Wapping Overground station which allows it to remain open despite it not meeting current safety standards.
We have located the followingdocument dated 2003 which is already published by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets at the following link which refers to the derogation you have asked about in point 3.2:Future of Wapping Ldn U'Ground Station.pdf (towerhamlets.gov.uk). We have not been able to locate a copy of the original derogation however as noted in the document, the derogation was granted by HMRI who is now effectively absorbed by ORR.
