TfL Ref: FOI-2071-1920

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7th October 2019 asking for information about defibrillators on board trains and at stations.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.

Specifically you asked:

Please can you kindly confirm if you have defibrillators on all of the trains including London underground, overground, DLR and Tfl trains that you run? If you do not please confirm how many do and do not have defibrillators on board. Please confirm if you have plans to roll out defibrillators across all the trains you run. Please also confirm if all of the train stations your trains run through also have defibrillators.  If they do not - please confirm the names of which ones do not have them.

I can confirm that we hold the information you require, broken down by mode below. Note that in addition to the fixed points referenced below, London Underground's Network Incident Response Team and British Transport Police medical officers also carry defibrillators, and take these to incidents where customers have fallen ill.

London Underground:

Defibrillators are not held onboard trains, and there are no currrent plans to do so as it is quicker to give assistance at a station where there are more staff and space to work. Note the ambulance service guidelines which can be seen via the following link:
