H22 bus route consultation

Request ID: FOI-2063-2021
Date published: 27 January 2021

You asked

request under the freedom of information Act that you send me all your consideration with this consultation'. Dear TFL As usual you did not answer my question and offer no practical solution to my problem. This morning 5 buses pass when a bus to Richmond arrives it is too full to allow me on but the driver could tell I was freezing so let me on anyway. Thank you to the 490 bus driver that allowed me on. I asked if you considered in your proposal of re routing H22 one stop to allow people to swap over in Central Twickenham to 33 or R68 to Richmond, ie re routing up Arrogan Road like 290 does. Please send me the notes where this was considered and ruled out as a proposal. I requested this in my original suggestions when you carried out your consultation. In fact I would like to request under the freedom of information Act that you send me all your consideration with this consultation. I want to see if you considered this anywhere.

We answered

TfL Ref 2063-2021

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 7 January 2020 asking whether TfL considered re-routing the H22 one stop up Arragon Road and asking for evidence that this was considered anywhere in the proposals.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked if TfL considered continuing the H22 up Arragon Road for one additional stop to allow passengers to change buses in Central Twickenham to routes 33 or R68 to Richmond as part of the changes made to the H22 and for any notes where this was considered and ruled out as a proposal

We do not hold any written records or documents post consultation on the possibility of routing the H22 via Arragon Road. However we can say that this would have been initially considered and ruled out on the basis of the time penalty for passengers and additional mileage incurred. The mitigating factor is that an interchange is available with routes 490 and R70. As such, no further work would have been undertaken to consider routing the H22 via Arragon Road. However we will continue to keep this under review. You may also want to look at the consultation report and results which are published on our website: https://consultations.tfl.gov.uk/buses/bus-changes-richmond/.

If you are considering submitting a further FOI request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
