Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
Could I request the weight of train IS4 and travelling speed/ rick to the emergency brake bend applied on July 7th 2018, unit number 96053
Unit 96053/96054 had 3 emergency brake instances on the date in question. Please see below for details;
- Unit 053/054 emergency braked on 07/07/2018 at 19:06:58 while travelling eastbound towards London Bridge. The train speed was 65 km/h when the emergency brake was applied. Train was medium loaded.
- Unit 053/054 emergency braked on 07/07/2018 at 18:42:16 while traveling eastbound towards Willesden Green. The train speed was 51 km/h when the emergency brake was applied. Train was medium loaded.
- Unit 053/054 emergency braked on 07/07/2018 at 10:48:38 while travelling eastbound towards Queensbury. The train speed was 64 km/h when the emergency brake was applied. Train was lightly loaded or empty.
When a train emergency brakes only friction brakes are applied so there is no electric/friction brake blending.
Car weight information is only recorded for normal service braking, not emergency braking. Weight is recorded by the system as shown above, not as absolute values.
