I wish to know if you 'enforce' bus/tram, lanes/gates on Christmas Day, when no buses or trams (whichever is applicable) are in operation? I am asking this same question to a number of Councils across the UK to find out what their policy is on enforcing contraventions on Christmas Day? I have been informed by Tower Hamlets Borough Council that Transport for London enforce red route bus lanes and therefore they are unable to answer whether these bus lanes are enforced or not on Christmas Day. Does Transport for London enforce red route bus lanes on Christmas Day?

I can confirm that we do not enforce bus lane restrictions on Christmas Day.
