Thank you again for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) 12 January 2021, asking about spend on advertising public transport since the start of Coronavirus pandemic.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:

Since the start of the Coronavirus pandemic in March 2020 TfL has spent £127,983 advertising our core public transport messages at bus shelters and £1.8m on radio advertising for this same scope of work. Throughout the pandemic, we have been using our advertising to communicate essential service and safety information to help Londoners travel safely at this critical time. This includes conveying vital messaging such as the importance of wearing a face covering, travelling at the quiet times, washing hands and maintaining social distancing.
If you are considering submitting a further request please think carefully about whether the request is essential at this current time, as answering FOI/EIR requests will require the use of limited resources and the attention of staff who could be supporting other essential activity. Where requests are made, please note that our response time may be impacted by the current situation.
