Cancellation / out of service information for District Line trains departing from Ealing Broadway

I would like to know how frequently departing district line trains are either cancelled or put out of service between 7am and 9am on weekdays and the reasons given for either cancellation or for the trains to go out of service. I would like the date and time of each cancellation or train out out of service alongside the reason recorded. I would like this information for the past 2 years, so between August 2021 and August 2023.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12th September 2023 asking for information about District line services from Ealing Broadway.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Cancellation / out of service information for District Line trains departing from Ealing Broadway: I would like to know how frequently departing district line trains are either cancelled or put out of service between 7am and 9am on weekdays and the reasons given for either cancellation or for the trains to go out of service. I would like the date and time of each cancellation or train out of service alongside the reason recorded. I would like this information for the past 2 years, so between August 2021 and August 2023.”
The best information we have to address your request is provided in the attached spreadsheet. Please note the following:
in the “Notes” worksheet there is an explanation of recording practices and some caveats;
the data shows the actual number of trains that ran vs. the scheduled number of trains that should have run;
however, we cannot specifically relate that data to trains departing from Ealing Broadway. Train cancellations or withdrawals are recorded at the location where the cancellation/withdrawal happened, which will impact the service across different sections of the line. Therefore, while we can provide train cancellations or withdrawals across the whole line during specific dates, we cannot ascertain which ones in turn would have had an impact on departures from Ealing Broadway specifically.
