Thank you for your email received by us on 25 October 2017 asking for information about pollution monitoring.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. You asked:
Using current monitoring equipment in the areas of cycle superhighways can you tell me the figure for NOX and PM 2.5 pollution every year for the last 5 years. Including the period when the construction was in progress.
Unfortunately we are unable to provide air pollution monitoring figures. However TfL do carry out initial desktop Environmental Evaluations followed by more detailed assessments, such as the impact on air quality.
In terms of ongoing air quality monitoring, it is possible to use data from the existing air quality monitoring network (owned primarily by the boroughs) to understand trends across London as a whole, but also to explore the variable trends at individual monitoring stations http://www.londonair.org.uk/london/asp/publicdetails.asp

However there are many other influences that play a role in determining the air quality of an area picked up by a monitoring station. This includes the locations of monitoring stations, the direction of wind and meteorological conditions and local characteristics.
