I can advise that Transport for London (TfL) intends to remove the loading bay on the eastern side of Elmira Street near the junction with A20 Loampit Vale for a number of reasons. For example, there is already an adequate loading facility over the opposite side of the road and it is frequently misused. The current loading bay on the eastern side is also poorly located, causing visibility issues for vehicle traffic, pedestrians and cyclists turning into and out of Elmira Street. Additionally, a future Quietway cycle route may run along Elmira Street and when occupied the loading bay acts as a barrier for cyclists turning into Elmira Street from Loampit Vale, leading them into opposing vehicle traffic. Further information about Quietways can be found here on our website at: https://tfl.gov.uk/travel-information/improvements-and-projects/quietways
