We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-2015-2324
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 8th September 2023 asking for information about neurodivergent train operators.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“How many tube drivers, including test trains and engineering trains currently employed have declared a diagnosis of ADHD?
How many of those declared are taking medication associated with ADHD within the last 8 years.”
I am afraid that TfL does not hold the requested information. While our central HR reporting system does allow employees to declare if they have a disability, the “tick boxes” that allow an individual to choose the type of disability they have only provides for the following options to be selected:
Physical or Environmental Barriers
Information and Communication Barriers
Organisational Barriers
Attitudes
Others
More than one of the above can be selected, but none relate solely or specifically to ADHD. It is not possible, therefore, for employees to declare if they have a diagnosis of ADHD, and we do not hold the necessary information to answer your questions.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
