We answered

Our Ref:          FOI-2008-1819

Thank you for your request received on 1 November 2018 asking for information about the Hitachi train involved in the recent delays at Paddington.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and TfL’s information access policy.

We do not hold the information you have requested. The Hitachi train in question was a test train and operated by Great Western Railway (GWR), not TfL Rail and therefore there is no correspondence between TfL officials and Hitachi on this subject.

If you have not already done so, you may wish to contact GWR directly or Network Rail who manage the infrastructure: They can be contacted via their respective websites:

https://www.gwr.com/help-and-support/contact
https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/transparency-and-ethics/freedom-information-foi/.

Please accept our apologies that we are unable to assist you further on this occasion.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
