Our Ref: FOI-2007-2122
Thank you for your further request asking for information about The Drill Roundabout bus stop
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
1. Who made the decision to move the bus stop pole / post 4 metres
In order to utilise the full designated clearway area for buses, TfL made the decision to relocate the bus stop four metres south of original location.
2. The reasons and supporting information used to arrive at that decision
TfL received a complaint about buses causing an obstruction to a resident’s driveway due to the rear of the bus overhanging the residents driveway. TfL conducted a site survey on 6 August 2021 to ascertain any additional safety issues. No additional safety issues were highlighted. Please find survey attached.
3. Notification issued and the responses from the residents to the proposal to move the bus stop post / pole that took place in October 2021
A frontager letter of notification was initially sent on 24 August 2021 (please see attached copy of letter) but we were made aware the letter had been returned to our Head Office on 5 October 2021 and a further letter was sent. However, the bus stop was re-sited on 4 October 2021. No direct response had been received from the resident until recently.
In accordance with our obligations under Data Protection legislation some personal data has been removed, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the legislation, specifically the first principle of Article 5 of the UK General Data Protection Regulation which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions which would make the processing ‘fair’.
This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please feel free to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
