Thank you for your request of 4th January 2021 asking for a geographically correct map of the London Underground.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you sked:

“As part of my dissertation level studies in Applied computing. Is it possible to request data suitable for Arc GIS (shapefile) of the true geography/laydown of the london underground lines and its stations?”.

I note that in the subject heading of your request you quote a previous FOI request on the same subject, reference FOI-2796-1819. That request asked for the same information that you are now requesting. Our response to it is published online here:

As you can see, the request was refused under sections 24 and 38 of the Freedom of Information Act. The same exemptions apply to your request for the same reasons, so far as detailed plans and drawings are concerned. However, note that I can provide the attached map dated May 2014, which was produced as a one-off and has not been updated since.
