Under the freedom of information act , could you please disclose all information on who has access to the data captured by the cameras used to implement the ULEZ scheme.

Thank you for your request received by us on 1 September 2023, asking for information about data captured by automatic number place recognition (ANPR) cameras.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIRs) and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

Under the freedom of information act , could you please disclose all information on who has access to the data captured by the cameras used to implement the ULEZ scheme.

TfL followed the required Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) process and the DPIA is published on the TfL website at https://content.tfl.gov.uk/london-wide-ulez-final-dpia-november-2022.pdf. It sets out how the scheme operates, in accordance with data protection legislation and in particular how we minimise data collection from ANPR cameras, how data will be used, how we keep it secure and how it may be shared. As described in the privacy notice, ANPR camera data can be shared with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) for the prevention and detection of crime. These arrangements with the MPS currently only apply to existing central and outer London ANPR cameras used to enforce the Congestion Charge, ULEZ and LEZ, and are subject to data protection law and Information Commissioner’s Office safeguards and best practice. Unless otherwise described in the notice, TfL does not share ANPR camera data with any other organisations.
