Speed Leaving Westbourne Park

Request ID: FOI-1925-2425
Date published: 26 September 2024

You asked

I have noticed the speed of the train on the Eastbound Service arriving and departing from Westbourne Park has reduced it's speed significantly; until it reaches the lowest part of it's downward trajectory. This is the first time this has happened and I have been using the service for many years. Why the change?

Our ref: FOI-1925-2425

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 16 September 2024 asking for train speed from Westbourne Park station.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked:

A temporary speed restriction which has been implemented due to a track geometry fault. The speed restriction is necessary to ensure the continued safe operation of the train service.

As the repair for this problem is complicated, this speed restriction will be remaining in place for some time while our engineering colleagues determine the best way forward. We apologise for any inconvenience that this causes to our customers.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
