LCS codes - explanation and list

Request ID: FOI-1913-2223
Date published: 14 November 2022

You asked

In your response to FoI request FOI-1690-2223 (London Underground station platform lengths), you provided a spreadsheet "Copy of TFL095679 London Underground Platforms.xls", which makes reference to LCS (Location Coding System?) codes. Could you provide please (a) an explanation of these (I have seen reference to standards LUL S1035 and LT-IMS-ENG-060 (for Tramlink), which may well provide what I am after), and (b) if possible, a list of the top level codes (e.g. B061 for Queen's Park Station, taking the first entry from the spreadsheet) - note I do not require codes for any lower level, or greater detail.
