Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. You asked for:

the number of licensed private hire drivers that are registered with more than one operator, to clarify I wish to know the number of drivers that can legally accept ph bookings through an operator, those drivers that are registered with more than one operator at the same time.

London licensed private hire drivers are permitted to work for one or more private hire operators if they choose to do so. Additionally, all London licensed private hire operators are required to provide us with details of the vehicles and drivers they have used to fulfil private hire bookings, or have had available to fulfil bookings on a weekly basis.

Between the week commencing 21 July 2019 to 17 August 2019, 28,677 private hire drivers were declared as being available to fulfil bookings by two or more private hire operators.
