You asked
Hi, I would like to know if bus advertising revenue, inside and outside the bus, is paid to TfL directly or to the operators who run them. Also how much do the advertisements make per bus on average? Thanks
We answered
Our ref: FOI-1898-1819/GH
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 22 October 2018 asking for information about bus advertising revenue.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
The advertising contracts for buses are directly between the bus operating companies and Exterion. Therefore any revenue for bus advertising is paid directly to the bus operator.
Due to this we have no information on the advertising revenues made by buses nor any mechanism to ask for this information, as it is contractual between Exterion and the individual operator.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely
