Homophobic and racial abuse on the tube

I am writing to obtain information regarding the number of reports/incidents involving racial or homophobic abuse.
For calendar years 2017, 2018 and so far in 2019, please provide:
a) The number of homophobic incidents recorded
b) The number of racial incidents recorded
c) The underground line with the most homophobic incidents recorded
d) The underground line with the most racial incidents recorded.
I am interested in incidents involving members of the public. I am now wary that that data might be held by BTP rather than TFL so if you could advise I would much appreciate it.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we hold some of the information you require.
From April 2017 onwards, our published crime bulletins contain information on hate crimes:

In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
We do not hold information in this detail before April 2017. As advised in my email below, please contact the BTP directly for this information. Please also note that the BTP will hold more up-to-date information than can be obtained from our bulletins, as the data can be extracted from their live system.
