I am looking to confirm the average CO2 emissions of London buses. I appreciate there are many different models (diesel, hybrid, electric) but I wondered if there is an over-arching average across the whole London bus network.

Thank you for your request received by us on 2022 asking for information about average CO2 emissions on London Buses. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.
We hold data on the carbon emissions of the majority of the services we directly operate, and report on these per passenger km in our annual Health Safety and Environment report, which is available on our website: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/health-safety-and-environment Please note that these values are average and indicative values only and provide a high level comparison between modes. The carbon emissions associated with individual road journeys will depend on a number of factors such as vehicle model, level of traffic, average speed, etc.
