Average time trains stay in stations

You asked
Previous FOI requests have yielded the average transit times between stations on the London Underground and Overground network for all lines, but I am not aware of any information regarding how long trains spend in the platform when allowing passengers to embark and disembark from the train. Could you please provide the average time spent in each station by trains on every LU and Overground line? This would enable me to make more accurate calculations of journey times. Thank you

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:

Could you please provide the average time spent in each station by trains on every LU and Overground line?

Please see the attached spreadsheet showing scheduled dwell time data for London Underground. You can create averages from this data.

I would also refer you to the TfL Open Data feed. The open data allows access to both scheduled and actual times, which in turn allow data to be recorded over a long period if required and averaged on whatever aggregate level you need. The open data site also includes details about the data sources and how to register for it. It can be found here: https://tfl.gov.uk/info-for/open-data-users/our-open-data?intcmp=3671.

London Overground dwell data is accessible via the Network Rail Open Data feed available at https://www.networkrail.co.uk/who-we-are/transparency-and-ethics/transparency/open-data-feeds/.
