This is a freedom of information request under the Freedom of Information Act (2000).
From October 2017 to September 2022, please can you supply me with the following information:
- The total number of wheelchair accessible taxis and private hire vehicles licensed to operate in London per month, categorised by borough and type of private hire vehicle.
I would like this information delivered in CSV format.
If it is not possible to categorise this information per month, then per year is also acceptable.
Should this request exceed the costs ceiling in its current state, please reduce the time frame of the information requested to between October 2019 and September 2022.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 4 November 2022 asking for information about the number of wheelchair accessible taxis and private hire vehicles.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.
Please find the requested information in the two attached zip folders, noting that we have provided the information monthly from October 2019 to September 2022. It would require a considerable amount of further work to locate, cleanse and collate the information from 2017 to 2019, and this would exceed the cost limit.
(Under section 12 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to comply with requests if we estimate that the cost of determining whether we hold the information, locating and retrieving it and extracting it from other information would exceed the appropriate limit. In this instance, we estimate that the time required to answer your request would exceed 18 hours which, at £25 per hour (the rate stipulated by the Regulations), exceeds the ‘appropriate limit’).
Please also note that we designate all licensed taxi vehicles as being wheelchair accessible and have only relatively recently started publishing full lists of the taxi vehicle fleet.
