Dear tfl, My son has been knee-deep into researching London Buses because he is so passionate about them. Since he was very little (3), he gathered tons of notes where he wrote bus numbers and their destinations. He used to listen to these announcements on a webpage but seems their sound plugin has crashed. We tried to contact them on several occasions with no response. He started getting a bit frustrated that he can't play them and on this matter I was told it is possible to request a recording of these. He loves listening to routes and destinations, particularly prefix and night buses, and replacement buses. I am certain this would bring him great joy. It would mean a great achievement to him.

 Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 December 2020 asking for copies of announcements for buses and London Underground.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

We normally are able to provide bus announcements on CD format, and some of the Underground announcements (some are subject to copyright restrictions).

However, at this time we are all working from home without access to our offices and the equipment we need to make copies of the announcements. We are therefore unable to send out copies of the announcements at this time, and until we return to our office.

We hope to return early in the new year, but at this time we do not know when this will be.

I am sorry we are unable to assist you at this time, but please feel free to resubmit your request to us next year and when we are back in the office we will be able to provide these to you.
