We answered

TfL Ref: 1857-1819

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 15 October 2018 asking for information about the number of dog injuries on escalators for the period 1 October 2017- 30 September 2018.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy.

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested. Our Transport for London Conditions of Carriage – Buses and Underground services section 9.9 states as follows:

9.9 At Underground stations, if you bring an animal with you, you must use a staircase or lift where provided. If there is no staircase or lift and you need to use a moving escalator, you must carry your animal unless you have an assistance dog that has been trained to walk on moving escalators. If your animal is too large to carry, a member of staff will stop the escalator to allow it to travel on it when it is safe to do so (generally outside the rush hours and when the station is not busy).
