1) Could you please provide traffic counts (hourly values) for Marylebone Rd in the period 2011-2012? 2) I also need vehicle speed data (hourly values) for Marylebone Rd in the period 2011-2017. 3) How do you calculate the mean vehicle speed based on the traffic counts per vehicle category (CLS1, CLS2, CLS3, CLS4, CLS5, CLS5, CLS6) and the different speed intervals (for example, SP05@MG1 SP10@MG1 SP15@MG1 SP20@MG1 SP25@MG1 SP30@MG1 SP35@MG1 SP40@MG1 SP45@MG1 SP50@MG1 SP99@MG1)?

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19 September 2019 asking for information about Traffic counts and vehicle speed at Marylebone Rd.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. 

Unfortunately we do not hold the information you have requested for the reasons provided below:

  1. Could you please provide traffic counts (hourly values) for Marylebone Rd in the period 2011-2012?

     

    The Automatic Traffic counter (ATC) was installed at that location in April 2013, therefore we do not hold the data for the period you have asked about.

     

     

  2. I also need vehicle speed data (hourly values) for Marylebone Rd in the period 2011-2017.

     

    The ATCs primary purpose is to record vehicle flows which is what we extract and record on a daily basis, speed data is not included within our extraction process.

     

     

  3. How do you calculate the mean vehicle speed based on the traffic counts per vehicle category (CLS1, CLS2, CLS3, CLS4, CLS5, CLS5, CLS6) and the different speed intervals (for example, SP05@MG1  SP10@MG1    SP15@MG1SP20@MG1SP25@MG1SP30@MG1SP35@MG1SP40@MG1SP45@MG1SP50@MG1SP99@MG1)?

The vehicle categories and speed intervals mentioned above are not used by TfL or created via the ATC, and as such the ATC does not have these speed and class breakdowns.
