Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked:
- What are the circumstances concerning the removal of the older fleet of busses from this route?
A new contract award which required new electric buses to be deployed.
- Are the older fleet of busses still in operation?
Yes, some are in use on Route 217.
3. If yes to above, where are they operating?
3a. If no to question 2, where are they now and what is planned for them in the immediate future?

- With regards to the design of the new fleet (2023/4), why are they designed without a rear facing window on the lower deck?
The vehicles are of the manufacturers standard design which has vehicle components in this area.
