We answered
TfL Ref: FOI-1791-2223
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 24th October 2022 asking for a copy of a poster displayed at South Kensington London Underground Station.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Would it possible for me to get or buy one of the posters advertising the release of the latest arctic monkeys album “The Car” present on the South Kensington tube Station?”
Please note that the Freedom of Information Act covers the provision of recorded information only (rather than assets such as hard-copies of posters). Note further that TfL itself does not hold a digital copy of the poster in question. Rather, this is held by Global, the contracted provider of advertising on the London Underground. Neither TfL nor Global are able to release copies of such posters without the owner’s permission (i.e. without the permission of the client that placed the advert). A digital copy of the poster is therefore exempt from disclosure under section 41 of the Freedom of Information Act on the basis that it constitutes information provided in confidence.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
David Wells FOI Case Officer FOI Case Management Team General Counsel Transport for London
