Please could you tell me, in acres and hectares the amount of woodland you own, taking into account embankments.

Thank you for your request received by us on 24 October 2022 asking for information about woodland owned by Transport for London.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) and our information access policy. You asked for:
in acres and hectares the amount of woodland you own, taking into account embankments.
Whilst we do not hold the specific information you are seeking, we can advise that around a third of our land is covered by vegetation. We also have up to 436 hectares of tree canopy cover, which is nearly 22% of our land. Plus, there are 124 Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation (SINCs) covering 484 hectares, or 24% of TfL land.
