I hereby request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act, regarding the expanded ULEZ scheme, for the areas of Romford, Hornchurch, Upminster, Elm Park, Rainham, Barking & Dagenham, Harold Wood, Harold Hill - with regards to all cameras that are used for Automatic Number Plate Reading (ANPR): - Where the cameras are to be installed Where have the cameras been installed Pictures of the cameras that have been used / are to be used in their specific location Pictures of differing cameras used if not photographed in their specific location Specific details of cameras where they are placed on traffic signals / traffic lights Specific details of cameras - where located on TFL infrastructure Specific details of cameras - where located on council owned infrastructure, or the infrastructure of others The specific location of ULEZ signage already in place / where they are to be placed Specific dates and places and positioning of when and where cameras, and signage, are to be installed - up to the end of 2023

Thank you for your request which we received on 29 August 2023, asking for information about ULEZ cameras and signs.
 
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations (EIRs) and our information access policy.  We do hold the information you require.
 
Please find the attached document listing current signage in the required locations. Please note this excludes signage affixed to camera posts.

In accordance with the EIRs, we are not obliged to supply the rest of the information you have requested, including signage on camera posts, as it is subject to a statutory exception to the right of access to information under regulations R12(5)(a) – international relations, defence, national security & public safety (in this instance specifically public safety), regulation 12(5)(b) – the course of justice, the ability of a person to receive a fair trial or the ability of the public authority to conduct and inquiry of a criminal or disciplinary nature – (in this instance specifically the course of justice), and regulation 12(5)(e) – confidentially of commercial or industrial information where such confidentiality is provide by law to protect a legitimate economic interest.
