RE: FOI Request for information Good day. I am contacting you today to request some information that might help me with a paper I am writing for my University coursework. I understand from the Hounslow Highways website, that TFL might be responsible for the maintenance of the A4 roadway, in West London. Apologies if I have misinterpreted this information. I am trying to find some information relating to gritting records on the stretch of the Great West Road, Brentford, TW8 on 24 or 25 January 2017. The met office records indicate that there was adverse weather experienced during this month, and I would like to find out if this road in particular was gritted, as it is part of the A4. I would be extremely very grateful if you would be able to send me any information you may have for the specific dates of the 24th or 25th January 2017, or if you do not have any data for that specific day, could you send me data you would have for January 2017 indicating that this road was gritted during the snowy/icy weather? If you require me to make any kind of contribution to retrieving this information, I would be more than happy to contribute, if you let me know what the charge would be. Thank you for your  request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 October 2018 asking for gritting records for Great West Road (A4) Brentford.

Your request has been processed in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you requested. You asked:

The A4 Great West Road was treated with salt every 24 hr period between 18 Jan – 26 Jan by TfL on the following dates (for every sq. metre of carriageway xx grams of salt was distributed) – the amount depends on the air temperature and levels of moisture at the time of gritting:
