Please provide recordings of all telephome calls between MTR EL and Network Rail Western which occurred between the hours of 15:30 and 18:30 today.
Please also provide copies of any service recovery strategies that MTR EL can use to minimise the effects of service disruption on passengers.

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27th August 2024 asking for information about the Elizabeth Line. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Please provide recordings of all telephome calls between MTR EL and Network Rail Western which occurred between the hours of 15:30 and 18:30 today.
Please also provide copies of any service recovery strategies that MTR EL can use to minimise the effects of service disruption on passengers.”
I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require.
In regard to recordings of telephone calls, TfL does not hold this information. Having liaised with colleagues at MTREL, the operator of the Elizabeth line, I can report that they do not hold any such recordings either. Rather, Network Rail records the calls and holds the information (MTREL can request access to the recordings if needed - usually for investigating incidents after the event – but it does not automatically receive copies of recordings). You will therefore need to re-direct the request to Network Rail. FOI requests to Network Rail can be made via its website here:
In regard to recovery strategies, Network Rail hold Contingency Plans for all operators that operate on the network. Colleagues at MTREL have provided the following Contingency Plan for their services:-
