We answered

Our ref: FOI-1741-2425

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 27 August 2024 asking for information about buses on route 214.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy.

I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require. You asked:

Can you please tell me the weight of a single deck bus on the 214 route PLUS the battery weight when the bus is empty of passengers?

We do not hold the exact details as different operator specifications affect the vehicle unladen weight. Approximately, the unladen weight of these vehicles is 12 tonnes which includes the battery, and the gross vehicle weight (maximum) is 18.7 tonnes.

Please note, that the exact details for the individual vehicle can be found on a plate by the front door of the bus.

Can you also please tell me how many passengers they designed to carry when full?

65 is the maximum certified count but the number of passengers held when full will depend on the vehicle layout.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
