Thank you for your request received by us on 17 October 2022 asking for information about the speed of buses on Southgate Road, following your previous request for information, TfL reference: 0495-2223.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:
a summary of the % of buses that speed on Southgate Road between Balls Pond Road and Downham Road going over the legal speed limit 20mph.
Please provide this information for the past 2 years

Please see the attached spreadsheet for the requested data; please expand each column for complete visibility.

The data provides a summary of the journeys taken by bus route 21 between the stops at Balls Pond Road and Downham Road in both directions: ‘One’ is towards Newington Green; ‘Two’ is towards Lewisham.

In response to your previous request received by us on 25 May 2022, the initial spreadsheet given was for bus journey statistics between 1 June 2020 to 31 May 2022. However, as our database system holds data for approximately two years, the period of time covered in the current spreadsheet commences 19 September 2020 to 31 May 2022, since we no longer hold statistics of this kind prior to 19 September 2020.
