FOI request detail

A20 Crittall's Corner Prosecutions

Request ID: FOI-1714-2425
Date published: 06 September 2024

You asked

Following your earlier reply regarding the above, I have been unable to respond due to my FOI request to the Metropolitan Police having only been received today. This after progressing the matter on several occasions with them. Regarding your reply on behalf of TfL, it actually gave very little information so much so that I contacted two people that I knew well both of whom had been Directors of Companies in the Construction Industry. ( I also have experience of being employed in the Construction Industry for almost 20 years. Additionally, having at one time total responsibility for all London Authorities including the then GLC in the Company) We were all of the same opinion that the information provided was meaningless. Additionally, I am of the opinion that the problems that have arisen on the A20 at Crittal’s Corner onwards are most likely due to the lack of regular maintenance. Under FOI, will you kindly arrange for someone technically and currently involved with remedial work commencing today 23rd August 2024, to advise with drawings if possible, detailed information: 1 The alterations to soil pipes and soak away at the point where surface water gathered? 2 Are the above being upgraded in any way from the original design? I ask the foregoing not for the sake of asking but due to professional interest. Thanking you in anticipation.

Under FOI, will you kindly arrange for someone technically and currently involved with remedial work commencing today 23rd August 2024, to advise with drawings if possible, detailed information:

  1. The alterations to soil pipes and soak away at the point where surface water gathered?

No alterations have been made to the below ground pipe work or outfall from the system.

  1. Are the above being upgraded in any way from the original design?

No upgrades have been made to the pipe system or outfall. Investigations and assessments showed how water entered the below ground system had a greater impact than upgrading the below ground system.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely,
